Technical Theatre

Go behind the scenes with Technical Theatre! Lillian Osborne’s Technical Theatre courses teach students the fundamental skills associated with working in a professional theatre setting, with hands-on work within the MacLab Theatre as part of their course work. Students will get the chance to coordinate all of the backstage work that goes into the many performances, plays, and events that occur throughout the year at Lillian Osborne! Additionally, students have the ability to become designers within this theatrical context, with the goal of having all of our major productions being 100% student-designed and operated. For students looking to extend their skills in theatre design, Technical Theatre also serves as the entry point to the specialized Intro to Theatre Design (Design Thinking for Innovation) course, a first of its kind in Edmonton, where students can go more in-depth with lighting, sound, video, set and costume design.
