Staples "Recycle for Education" Finalist!

As a finalist in Staples Canada's "Recycle for Education" contest, Lillian Osborne is one of 10 schools across Canada to be chosen to receive $25,000 prize of computers from Staples Canada!

Recycle for Education

Every year, Staples Canada, in collaboration with Earth Day Canada, provides 10 exceptional schools with a computer lab valued at $25,000 to further their environmental and educational work and recognize their eco stewardship. Almost 700 schools participated this year, by sending a questionnaire telling us about their green initiatives. (Reposted from the Staples Canada website)

Lillian Osborne - Finalist is 2014 Staples Canada Recycle for Education ContestEnvironmental Leadership for the 21st Century:  Lillian Osborne aims to model and foster local and global care for our precious environment while minimizing our footprint on the Earth.  This has been one of our four school pillars ever since we opened our doors almost five years ago.  We still have a long way to go, but are proud of the diverse and signficant efforts many varied segments of our students have put in to make this goal a reality from day to day, both locally at school and in the Terwillegar-Riverbend community, and globally, in China and Belize.

Excellence in Teaching District Recognition!

Jenni Shwetz and Davey Thompson, with EPSB Board Trustee Catherine Ripley at District Awards Ceremony
A huge warm congratulations to two Lillian Osborne teachers, Jenni Shwetz and Davey Thompson, recipients of 2013 Excellence in Teaching Awards at a district celebration in May!

We are proud to work with such amazing and compassionate colleagues.  Our students, thanks to Jenni and Davey, have thrived as true twenty-first century learners, engaging in activities that nurture community involvement and leadership through service, and that develop mindfulness, creative thinking, and problem-solving through the Visual Arts.
