The provincial government has allocated funds to renovate Lillian Osborne High School in order to accommodate 600 more students. Within this plan of expansion is a space which is designated to serve as a multifunctional/theatre area. We see great potential for this space to be developed in order to meet the needs of our school and surrounding communities.
Our communities actively promote involvement of its citizens through events such as : The Southwest Edmonton Farmers Market, Art in the Park, Lillian Osborne Winterfest Community Festival, Local Talent Shows, TRAC Walk/ Run, Party in the Park, an outdoors News Years Family Day Celebrations with fireworks, and many more events and activities which bring culture, recreation and connection within our communities.
To serve the needs of our growing community we would greatly benefit from a space that is equipped to function for a variety of purposes. We are very excited that the expansion will be built by Edmonton Public Schools and is projected to be completed by June of 2016.
Our purpose is to raise the funds needed to complete the structural engineering as well as furnish and equip this unique, essential and exciting community space that will serve our communities now and in the future.
Our fundraising goal is $1.6 Million. Please visit our website at WWW.OSBORNETHEATRE.COM for more information, see our progress and/or make a donation.
As part of our fundraising, we are selling 2015 calendars and art card packs. The images are all created by our talented Visual Arts students. Calendars are $25 each, and art card sets (6) are $15.00. They can be purchased through the school main office.
