2026/2027 ENROLMENT
Thanks to all the families who pre-enrolled before the March 25 deadline!
We had more requests than available space, so a lottery process will be held for new students in Grades 10 and 11.
If your child is entering one of these grades, you will be notified about the results by April 17, 2026.
If you are a returning student at Lillian Osborne, we will not contact you.
ENROLMENT AND LOTTERY PROCESS AT LILLIAN OSBORNE
To help address enrolment growth, Lillian Osborne High School has a lottery process for new students enrolling for the 2026–27 school year. This only impacts new resident* students living in the designated attendance area who wish to enrol in a grade that does not have space in planned classes. Students who are currently enrolled at Lillian Osborne High School or who wish to enrol in a grade with space in planned classes are not impacted.
*A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic.
LOTTERY PROCESS ONCE PRE-ENROLMENT CLOSES
Pre-enrolment closed at 4 p.m. on March 25. In April, the school will call the families of new resident students about the lottery results.
- If selected in the lottery, new resident students can attend the school.
- If not selected in the lottery, new resident students can:
- attend their overflow designated school (siblings may also enrol at the overflow designated school)
- attend another Division school with space in planned classes
- request to be placed on a callback list
- if spaces in planned classes open up, they will be offered to students on the callback list until the last school day before pre-enrolment begins next school year.
ENROLLING AT AN OVERFLOW DESIGNATED SCHOOL OR ANOTHER DIVISION SCHOOL
We will help resident families who were not selected in the lottery process enrol at their overflow designated school, Strathcona High School. If families choose to go to another Edmonton Public School, please call or email your preferred school to see if there is space in planned classes.
Siblings living in the attendance area will also be able to attend the overflow designated school. If families choose to go to another Division school with space in planned classes, siblings are not guaranteed to attend.
REGISTRATION AFTER MARCH 25
Resident students who register or move into a Level 3 school’s attendance area after pre-enrolment closes for the 2026–27 school year on March 25 can be added to the bottom of the callback list. Students can attend their overflow designated school, another Edmonton Public School with space in planned classes, or remain at their current school.
TRANSPORTATION TO OVERFLOW DESIGNATED SCHOOLS
Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is the preferred transportation method for junior high and high school students; however, if ETS is not available, eligible students attending their overflow designated school may be able to apply for yellow bus service.
Families who choose to attend another school rather than an overflow designated school will need to make transportation arrangements to get their child(ren) to and from school.
