Digital Music

Digital Music 15-25-35 provides students with the opportunity to create their own expressive electronic music compositions. Students will engage in creative, musical problem solving using various music technologies, resulting in a body of musical work that is of the student’s own creation. The scope of the course covers various topics including: electronic music technology, learning how to program synthesizers and creating original sounds, multitrack recording and mixing, history of electronic music, and creating various electronic music compositions. The aim for Digital Music is to provide students with opportunities to encounter their own creative agency as 21st century digital composers as students work with the Digital Audio Workstation, Ableton Live.

This course explores audio recording techniques, MIDI and virtual instrument programming, and post production mixing skills within the Digital Audio Workstation, Ableton Live.  This course uniquely engages students interested in electronic-based music and recording technology.

Audio 25 (Digital Music)

This course explores audio recording techniques and post production mixing skills. This course uniquely engages students interested in music and technology. Continuation of Digital Music 15.

Audio 35 (Digital Music)

This course explores audio recording techniques and post production mixing skills. This course uniquely engages students interested in music and technology. Continuation of Digital Music 25.
